Throughout life we wonder how we will leave our mark on this school, in my home, in my family, in this world. We wonder that after we die and our bodies are long diseased how our names, pictures, images, and personality will be kept on living. In the movie Troy a warrior asked for advice, if he should proceed and fight for his country or stay back. He got the response that you always have the choice, if you stay and live at home, build a family, raise a son and limit yourself bound to your family that’s the only place you’ll be remembered. That if your son kept the family line moving on and on that eventually your name would be lost among the generations. That he’d be forgotten forever. While on the other hand if he were to fight and partake in the greatest battle well known to man that people will speak the name of the valiant soldier who lead and conquered his army past the impenetrable walls of Troy. That his name will forever be spoken by story tellers and his name will remain legend until the ends of the earth.
This movie made me wonder what way I could be remembered because I’d hate for my life to pass without there ever being significance, to be valued is remembrance. Sure it sounds like an impossible task, but it’s worked for some men and women who we learn about in school. Intelligent and significant idols in history that have helped build the foundation of the earth we’re free to walk on today. As much as we all die to be valued we still must take into account how we’re so fortunate in life to be blessed with a chance that not too many people have. There’s always one thing that you have which separates you from another person. There are always those who are less fortunate who didn’t have all there life to find a way to be remembered. There’s this one song of which reminds me of someone who couldn’t make use of a full life. The song title is called “Swept Under” it’s about a girl who had a lung condition and the doctors didn’t know if she would have long to live, but life wasn’t what scarred the girl. It was really the fear of not leaving anything behind in this world, the fear that no one would remember she existed was the main factor.
I know that all my life I shouldn’t be worried about living my life, but instead just live it. Not by each day but by each second. Making memories with your friends and the people you love and hold dear to you is the most important thing. Life should be valued and not wasted. A friend once told me that each day he does nothing but spread love rather than hate. He tells people he cares about them and reminds them how much they mean to him because he’s never sure when the last day is when there will be no tomorrow. Where the moment he says “I love you” is his last. He takes each day and every moment so preciously that he wants to leave this world with a good last thought in everyone’s mind that he really cared about them and held no harsh feelings toward them. I guess that’s really how I’d like to leave this world with the impression rather than just the name. I mean what’s the use of having someone know your name and your great accomplishments if they never had the chance to meet you in the flesh.

The Gift
Trying To Find Mines
This video helped me realize all the possible things we can do in this life. Even though we may set our mind on one thing to help us become good at it, there's still a whole other world out there just waiting to be discovered. It's optimistic and that's what makes this video so inspiring. Even if our life may be facing its hardest times we have to take in the pain and look for a solution. "If you want something go get it," these two rappers Lyricks and Manifest send this message directly to all their listeners out there who want to be something. Their main point was at then end of the song they say, "...we've all been given talents, we've all been given skills abilities some greater than others, but when you find yours and use it to glorify him, use it to encourage someone and make someone smile." This relates to my personal question, what is my personal best because it tells me how lucky I am to be given my own "gift." It only depends on how I use it which is the important thing. I have that choice of whether or not I want to develop that "gift" and share it to the world to help make it a better place. When I sayI want to discover my personal best, I'm referring to not just one subject, but to all the subjects possible in this world. Looking back at the last quote especially the line, "...we've all been given skills abilities some greater than others, but when you find yours ..." it makes me wonder how do I even find what I could be good at. It's true that if I don't try everything I wouldn't I know if I'm good or not. This song in a less demanding way asks us and poses the question if we, as humans are obligated to find that "gift" God has consoled within us.
Just Like Me
This man, Allen Iverson, inspires me to keep trying to become who I want to be. He inspires me to try and continue to work and strive to make something out of what I've been born with. You work all your life with the attitude to be something better. To make a difference in this world that we live in. To turn peoples heads and just be unique, someone people want to be. If I want to achieve my personal best and discover my true potential I'm thinking I have to live by this attitude. He says in the video,"...by the end of my career I want to look myself in the mirror and know I did it my way." Which is exactly how I feel. I'm satisfied with who I am as a person. I don't want to be someone I'm not. That's why this world is so unique. It's filled with an array of different types of people. Allen also said another statement, "Always play with my heart. Always play like it's my last." which informs me he's someone who gives it his all with his imense passion and heart. When he says, "heart" he's talking about the will power to want something. That desire to obtain anything if it's a reputation or of an object. If I'm planning to reach my personal best I have to want whatever it is that bad. Whatever I've decided to head for in life I've got to never give up on it. Strive for it until I die.
